Matt Cookson is the Winery's winemaker extraordinaire. Matt received his degree in Enology (the science of making wine) from Fresno State University in 1984. He then left his native state of California to pursue a winemaking career in New York State. He came back to California, Napa Valley, to spearhead operations first at Robert Keenan Winery and then on to The Rombauer Winery facility of Napa Cellars. It was here that Matt created some of the most prestigious wines of his career. The artistic touch of this world-class winemaker has brought the wines of Holy Cross Abbey to the forefront of the industry.
